Biography
Dr. Piper is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Director of Research at the University of Wisconsin (UW) Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention, a member of the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and a licensed clinical psychologist. She is a Past President and a Fellow of the international Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT). Her research focuses on understanding and measuring tobacco dependence and treatment development, with an emphasis on using innovative methods (e.g., MOST, SMART) to optimize treatment and understand treatment mechanisms and treatment effects on populations with tobacco-related health inequities.
